about me

Born and raised in Munich, Germany, I had the pleasure to call this vibrant city my home for 18 years. I have two wonderful older siblings, that have been taking care of me growing up, I was the nestling of the family, also called “little princess”. Being a patchwork family, we grew up bilingually, so that you would often hear sentences like “Can you get the Staubsauger (vacuum cleaner) for me?”

With 18 years of age, I did my A-Levels, proudly presenting a 1.0! Directly after receiving my diploma, I moved to the Netherlands, young and passionate about circus. In Tilburg, close to the German borders, I am currently finishing my studies at “Fontys Hogeschool”, slowly gaining more inner peace after almost four years of circus school. With the presentation of my graduation piece on 20 & 21st June 2025, I will be concluding this journey with a Bachelor in Circus and Performance art, specialized in the aerial rope.

Even though, seemingly shy and introvert, I have always been a very adventurous and curious child. This was great at times, when I had a group of kids to play with and toll about, we would play games outside for hours. But when I was alone, I got lonely easily. Gratefully, my mum taught me to be creative in these moments, do craftworks, draw, paint, invent something or make up my own games.

Today, I love to embrace my still recent wish of playing. It fulfills me so much to pose challenges to myself and attempt to reach them – often a certain skill in the air on the rope. Even though, I can entertain myself quite nicely, I am a very social being and will undoubtably prefer to train and create in groups.

Cultural touch: Boringly German at times (organized, disciplined, direct, on time), with the English add-on (polite, not swearing, love tea).

By the way: Currently, I am in the mentoringprogram of theaterbüro-münchen for 2024/2025:

Vision on circus

What is circus in my eyes?

Circus is about the physical experience of the world, we take part in circus with our bodies. They are the means to enable us to join in whether from the inside by training it, or from the outside by watching circus visually and experiencing it emotionally.

As a participator in circus, this term is an umbrella for a huge world of diverse singular parts (circus as an art, circus as a lifestyle, circus as a sport). I want to narrow it down by talking about the part of executing circus: For me, it´s on the one hand an activity where like-minded humans get together to feel connected to one another. I see many open-minded, ambitious and curious people being drawn to circus. Some of us are using this activity to find a space of distraction from the pressure of life. The physical exhaustion, adrenalin, dopamine, pain helps to bring the mind into the present and leave worries in front of the training space for some time. Others of us consciously search for circus as a language of expression, often the one´s calling themselves more artists than athletes. Both is valid to me and in all scenarios, what is most present in circus is the common experience of physicality and emotions.

I call myself a part of circus, because I have a passion for it. The reasoning is very much irrational, it´s very emotional. What I enjoy so much about it, is the exchange with other people, the feelings of connection in an improvisation, the moments where you are fully present, one hundred percent concentrated for someone else, because they are trying something hard or dangerous. Circus is a very individual experience, because every body is different and feels something different. But because we share time and space in this activity, we can find the connection.

This leads me to what I want to reach through my creations. I want to open up the time and space to share feelings, memories or ideas. My goal is to have my audience let go of anything that drains them and embrace the moment of peace and entertainement. During my presentation my audience´s  experience is very individual. But by exchanging about my piece, people will allows themselves to feel community, because they saw the same.
